20+ HOME-BASED JOBS…YOU Can Start Today!

No doubt, a traditional 9-5 job may offer more stability and structure in life, but many people love the flexibility and independence that comes with home-based jobs or micro-task jobs that can be done part time. Due to the pandemic and increased need for remote work, working from home has become fairly simple and there’s no reason why you couldn’t give it a try! This blog post was inspired by Robin Barrett’s Youtube video that mentions legit work from home jobs for people living the RV lifestyle. The video outlines over 20 remote jobs from a chapter of her book, Work From Home While You Roam. So I’m excited to highlight a few of the Micro tasks jobs below.

According to Wikipedia, a micro job is a temporary, task-type job of all types, often booked through the Internet. Work may include web-based or in-person jobs, such as writing blogs, virtual assistant, handyman, nanny, website design, dog boarding or errands, etc.

These jobs help companies build better products and experiences for consumers worldwide! User Testers can earn up to $120 per test.

While the Analysia usability tester program is currently closed their website recommends you visit the following websites for similar job resources UserTesting, UTest, Userlytics, Validately, StartUplift, Usability.gov, UserFeel, HotJar.

  1.  Mystery Shop for movie theaters as a Certified Field Associate(CFA). Certified Field Associates provide secret shoppers and on-site evaluations for movie theaters. Participants get paid up to $15 hourly to confirm which trailers are played before a movie, count patrons, evaluate audience reactions, install promotional materials and more!

  1. Resell items to 3rd party sites like Decluttr. Third party e-commerce companies pay people to sell new and used items on their website. Depending on the company they accept physical products such as books, clothing, electronics and more. Most reseller businesses provide FREE shipping for items they want to buy. Electronics are often high priority so buyers may offer to send you a prepaid shipping label. So next time you find unwanted items, consider reselling it for extra cash!

The HIGHEST PAYING Work From Home Jobs in America!

The HIGHEST PAYING Work From Home Jobs in America!

Working from home has become a very popular topic! One major reason for this is due to the pandemic which caused rapid changes in the economy and increased the demand for remote workers. This blog post was inspired by Shane Hummel’s Youtube video that I came across while researching for legit work from home jobs. The video outlines some of the highest paying work from home jobs. So I’m excited to share the information below.

  • Online Tutoring – Make over a $100 dollars an hour teaching others academic subjects, specialized skills. You can save people time and money by showing them exactly what topics and resources are needed to achieve their goals. This job is in demand because passing tests is necessary for students, parents and job seekers. Online Tutoring jobs can be done independently during your free time or through a school, college or tutoring company.

  • Search Engine Evaluator – Earn $36,000 – $108,000 dollars a year as a Search Engine Evaluator.  Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing, have to make sure the results/information/answers that appears when you search online is high quality, relevant and useful. To accomplish this, companies need people to test the algorithm. While technology is improving, it does not always understand the human language. That’s why companies hire people to do research and make sure these systems are working properly. According to Glassdoor, the national average salary of a Search Engine Evaluator is $36,881 in the United States.

  • Remote Business Careers – This is a broad subject but the jobs which seem to be thriving are in healthcare, technology and finance. Most of these careers require formal training or work experience. You can easily work from home with Business careers in a variety of industries! Careers to search for  include Health Information Management (HIM), Website Development and Account Management. The Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that Health Information Management professionals earn an average of $46,590 per year. PayScale lists that an entry-level Account Manager with less than 1 year experience can expect to earn an average of $44,707. Web developers make an average of $72,090 per year however pay varies by state.

  • Social Media Manager – Get paid for managing social media accounts. PayScale’s US data shows Social Media Manager’s with zero to five years experience make $42,000 a year. This career field has tons of growth potential! Social Media Management is one of the most flexible jobs ever. You can do this for an employer or independently. All you need is high speed internet, marketing software and a computer. Small businesses and corporations pay people to promote their services online. I have been doing this type of work since 2016 both as an employee and freelancer. It is very rewarding if you enjoy working with customers, learning new programs and creating a variety of content.

Back to the Basics: 8 Must Haves for Working From Home

Back to the Basics: 8 Must Haves for Working From Home

Working from home was never a reality for many of us prior to Covid. However it has become quite common in the new age of technology, some people still either prefer working in an office setting or their job doesn’t allow them to work from home. On the other hand, a lot of us have found ourselves forced to work from home.

Since most people have no prior experience in working remotely, there are some basic steps that should be followed to make your job transition more enjoyable.

Make a Work Schedule:

While most of us may have the flexibility of setting our schedule for working from home, it is better to stick to a schedule we’re used to, or our employers recommend. To not increase already existing stress, your schedule does not have to be binding. Rearrange it according to what suits you best, as long as you keep getting a considerable amount of work done.

Develop a Home Office:

Considering the circumstances, it is not likely that the majority of us already have an existing home office to work from. But, a make-shift space can be made. You need to have a quiet and peaceful space to work from. All you need is a table, a chair, a laptop with a working internet connection, office supplies and you’re good to go!

Have Reliable Electronics and Internet Connection:

Since you will be the connection between you and your company, and will likely need to communicate with them often, having a reliable phone, computer and internet connection is essential for you. Your working space should have an outlet and a backup electricity supply in case you run out of battery or charging. Make sure you also have a backup internet supply in case your internet is down, such as data on your mobile phone.

Dress Accordingly:

No one will see you while you work, but dressing appropriately will put you in the right frame of mind and will increase your productivity levels. This does not mean dressing up into formal clothing like you would for a regular office, but changing out of pyjamas into at least day clothes can be a start. While you don’t technically need to do this, it can help demarcate your time from your work time and make it easy to follow a schedule and stay up to date.

Communicate Regularly:

While, not having to see your boss or co-workers every day sounds like a good idea, keeping them out of the loop though may not be. If you are working remotely, communication with your employer and colleagues is essential. Stay in touch with them via email, instant messaging, or programs that allow you to work simultaneously with your colleagues on shared documents. Don’t hesitate to contact your team via phone or email if you have concerns along the way.

Stay Focused:

Working from home may seem easy, but it can be difficult to keep yourself focused if you’re constantly faced with distractions such as the doorbell ringing or your family talking in the background. Keep your workspace relatively distraction-free. Consider getting noise-cancellation headphones, or use other methods of sound-proofing. If you live with a family or roommates, let them know that you are not to be disturbed at this time.

Avoid Extra-Curricular Activities during Work Hours:

If there are some household tasks or chores you are required to be tending to while you’re at home, schedule them according to your working timetable so that you don’t need to use your ‘office hours’ for household tasks. You need to be disciplined and able to manage time efficiently. Avoid taking breaks for cleaning or cooking and schedule time for them later, so they don’t pose a distraction while you work from home.

Keep Your Mind Fresh:

Working from home can over some time become quite lonely and claustrophobic, especially when you’re stuck in a routine and can’t leave your house often. Some ways to keep yourself from falling into the monotony is to keep your mind fresh. Try to set up your working space near a window so you can have a view of the outside while you work. If you’re not lucky enough for that, keeping an indoor plant near your work table is fairly low-maintenance and can have a positive effect. Keep yourself well hydrated and have healthy snacks in the middle to keep your energy levels up.

These are just a handful of small essentials to fulfill to make working from home a wholesome and positive experience for yourself. Choosing the best environment for yourself and optimizing it according to your needs is the secret to having a successful home office.

Your Winning Job Search

by Kayla McDonald

March Madness is a symbol of basketball history for sports fans in the U.S. There’s over 64 college basketball teams each who compete in both the NCAA Men’s & Women’s Division I Basketball Tournaments. Each sharing a common goal of making it into the NCAA Final Four and winning the national championship.  As the season ends, the tournament is narrowed down to two basketball teams who compete for the national championship. March Madness begins soon and since basketbalI is my favorite sport I wanted to discuss how it relates to your job search.

Just like March Madness, searching for a job comes down to the final seconds of the game. Once you’re invited to the tournament, the focus is no longer on your past experiences. Let’s face it, only a handful of teams get invited to the NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournament and even less job seekers get invited for an interview. Similar to the athletes who made the cut, the next step in the hiring process is to receive a job interview. While your application may have passed computer algorithms and job assessments, you still need to convince the managers to hire you! The NCAA Selection Committee is very selective about which teams are chosen similarly the same is true for employers. Most job applicants don’t pass the resume screening algorithm because of simple errors in formatting or grammar. Be sure to proofread your resume and check for spelling errors, inconsistent fonts or text sizes before submitting.

Now that you’ve been invited to participate, it’s time to demonstrate your expertise. These athletes will continue to compete and show off their basketball skills during March Madness, just as job seekers must do for interviews. Regardless if some teams have all star players or won more games than others, it all comes down to performance on the court. Most people have impressive career profiles but they fold during the job interview. Hundreds of candidates, all get asked the same set of questions.

How will you standout from the crowd? Simple…with preparation. When the interview questions get tough, it pays off…. if you are prepared. Research the company in advance to understand the job requirements and potential interview questions. Ask the recruiter what type of questions may be asked and search the internet for best answers to behavioral or stress interview questions. Don’t be afraid to practice with others, it could help improve your interviewing skills. However it will be your individual performance that produces the end result.

When the Final Four games are played, there’s only one team from the NCAA Men’s & Women’s Tournament that can win each year. In a way, you could say it’s just like a typical job search, where only one candidate is hired. However that’s where the comparison breaks down. Because you’re not limited to competing in one BIG “tournament,”  one time a year… companies are hiring year round!

So when one opportunity closes its doors, many others will be open. And some employers want to hire more than one candidate. In other words, all you need is one more shot to win the game. I believe anyone is talented enough to develop skills, earn money and start a meaningful career! The perfect job opportunity is out there waiting for those who keep searching. Your challenge is to find the best side gig or work from home job. And we’re here to help along the way!

The 3 Best Side Hustles, for 2021

The 3 Best Side Hustles, for 2021

By: Kayla McDonald

Were you forced to stay home in 2020? Did your job cut hours due to Covid-19? Are you enjoying the time freedom but still needing extra money? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

Government shutdowns and unemployment has changed the job market forcing people to work from home and search for different ways to make money. One of the most popular methods to make extra money is called a side hustle or side gig. Side Gigs allow people to monetize their talents and special interests. Monetizing skills you already have is a great idea and convenient way to start a new career from home. But if you never sold anything or been paid for doing a simple task  –– you may feel overwhelmed. That’s what inspired me five years ago, to develop a career guide with ten side hustles that people of any age can start from home.

In honor of what may be your 2021 New Year’s resolution, I’m listing my top picks of the best side hustles to jumpstart your career!

The 3 Best Side Hustles, according to Opinion Profit Club

1. Arts & Crafts Jobs –

The Art & Design industry is where many creative ideas are born and transformed into products or services. Money can be made doing things you enjoy like writing, drawing, painting and sewing. People in the arts who have these skills can get paid to write essays, advertising copy, video scripts and music. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Fine Artists, including Painters, Sculptors, and Illustrators earn an average of $63,060 a year. Love to draw? Start your career by designing t-shirts or company logos for a local business. Professional painting opportunities are growing with the real estate industry. You can get experience with residential painting by volunteering to help family, friends and nonprofit organizations paint homes. As you improve, offer to do paid gigs as a professional painter. Furthermore, people who craft can get paid for home-made creations. This is a side hustle people normally do as a hobby. Paid opportunities for arts and crafts projects often get overlooked. People who sell quilts, holiday wreaths, sculptors and custom items are making lots of money on websites like Etsy.

2. Auto Detailing Jobs –

The Automotive industry includes the design, maintenance and sale of vehicles. If you have an interest in anything with wheels like bikes, cars, and trucks, it’s a good chance you may excel in this industry! Automobiles are very important to the progression of society. They allow  us to travel and deliver goods & services. Careers in auto detailing are necessary in order to develop vehicles and keep it operating properly. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Automotive Body and Related Repairers earn an average of $47,390 a year. Exploring a career in “Auto detailing” is a great way to make money from home. You can get started in this profession by hand-washing cars and vacuuming vehicles in your neighborhood. Use your spare time to learn about auto paints and how chemicals react to them. Newbies can practice by offering auto detailing services at no cost. As your skills improve you can charge a fee for hand-washing and vacuuming the interior of cars in your area.

3. Lawncare & Gardening Jobs –
The Lawn Care industry is a form of landscaping that is focused on managing grass or soil portions of land. While homeowners often refer to grassland as a “yard”  businesses call it a “lawn”. Regardless of what we call it, lawmakers expect both renters and owners of such properties to keep grass cut, weeds pulled and litter removed. These laws and regulations increase the need for Landscapers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers

earn an average of $32,360 a year. If this sparks your interest, observe how homeowners and lawncare professionals maintain land. Do your research by reading books and watching videos for these jobs. Ask a mentor to show you how to cut grass, trim shrubs and plant flowers. Get practice when the weather is nice. Once your skills improve, offer to complete tasks for a fee.

You heard it here — working a side hustle in 2021 is possible. So if you’re looking to get out of debt or save money, working a side gig is a great way of reaching your goals. Is it the best way to earn extra cash?

Of course, you could ask your boss for a promotion or consider changing jobs—or even careers — But that can take some time.

In the meantime, master one of the skills above and start a side gig! These are only three of my top picks for 2021, subscribe to my newsletter for more side hustle ideas.

Mindfulness in Your Business

Mindfulness in Your
Business

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a psychological concept that defines a state
in which it is about paying attention to the present moment, as is, without
concessions or judgments.

More broadly, mindfulness is the practice of being mindful
of the current moment, observing the thoughts, emotions, and sensations of the
present, without any judgments, allowing them to flow freely and avoiding
internal ruminations.

What is mindfulness
based on?

Mindfulness is based on a meditation technique from India,
called Vipassana, which consists of becoming aware of the present moment in
which we find ourselves.

Starting in the 70s, this technique was applied to
psychological and psychiatric treatments, especially aimed at reducing anxiety
and depression.

Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor of medicine, introduced a series
of approaches to the Western world for therapeutic purposes. He is the creator
of the mindfulness-based stress reduction method.

How to start
practicing Mindfulness?

Formal and Informal
practices.

Informal practices:

These are those that are carried out by perceiving the
environment and that end up being integrated into daily life. For example, go
out for a walk and carefully see the landscape, the sounds that occur during
the journey, the whispering of the birds.

Formal practices:

 This when a specific
time is set for practice during the day. For example, sitting quietly for half
an hour concentrating on breathing.

Effects of the use of
mindfulness in companies

The practice of mindfulness in companies is one of the uses
that are given today. This technique allows proper stress management, an
improvement in interpersonal relationships and an increase in concentration on
the activities that are carried out daily.

From a scientific point of view, the introduction of the use
of mindfulness at the business, level helps employees to have neurobiological
and mental changes, so to observe their experiences and emotions in a more objective.

Other benefits of mindfulness practice that employees will
obtain are:

  • Increased concentration on tasks.

  • Reduction of stress and anxiety.

  • Increased creativity.

  • Fewer ponderings.

  • Increased empathy.

  • Greater persistence.
  • Emotional self-regulation.

Get rid of the excuses: They are the biggest hurdle in the path that lead to success

Excuses are the biggest hurdle in the path that leads to success. Excuses are addictive, unhealthy, inferior and unfavourable. An excuse has a strong power that makes a person go mentally and physically weak. Once we start making excuses, we start losing our focus and our aim, as excuse-making slowly stops us from progressing and improving. It makes us idle, lethargic, unenterprising and unfocused in life. Watch this video to understand how excuses are affecting us and how can we get rid of these.

When you feel like quitting, remember all of those who said you would fail.
When you feel like giving up, remember why you started.
When you feel like quitting, remember what you are doing it all for….
When you feel like quitting, remember pain is temporary.
And Greatness lasts forever.
When you feel like quitting, remember that the pain you feel today will be replaced with the strength you need tomorrow.
Remember that every ounce of pain you feel is building a stronger you.
A stronger body.
A stronger mind.
And a stronger character.
So push through the pain.
DON’T LET IT STOP YOU.
FORCE IT TO GROW YOU.
DON’T BACK DOWN FROM THE PAIN.
FACE IT. FEEL NO PAIN.
THERE IS NO PAIN.
That painful last rep, that’s NOTHING.
Give me MORE. PUSH HARDER.

When I feel like quitting, I remember: there are too many people I need to prove wrong.
When I feel like quitting, I remember: I have too much to fight for. I’LL NOT QUIT.

If you want average results, keep showing up and giving average effort.
If you want to be at your BEST, you will have to give your best effort.
Make an oath to yourself, that you will not walk out of any training session, any game, any-thing, without giving 110% of your soul.
Whatever you think is your limit, PUSH PAST IT.
Whatever you think is your max, see if you can get 10% more out.
