What is causing the TFE and Kynar- PVDF Price Increases.

Over the last year, the business has had more challenges than I have seen during my 3 decades experience. In the past I have seen sharp price increases, and I have seen several shortages, and delivery issues stemming from plastic resin allocations through plastic resin suppliers. This is definitely the very first time I have seen all these issues at the same time.

PTFE Sheet (TFE) and PVDF both are on allocation.

Both of these resins are in short supply. The  PTFE Sheeting product PTFE (TFE) and Kynar  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that’s mined in Mongolia and China. The world demand for this mineral has increased significantly, and the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and really low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is used within a bunch of applications from non-stick fry cookware to ptfe tape for use at home. This mineral is a key raw material within the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and several refrigerants. This increase in demand combined with shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double within the last year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to stay in affect in the near future.

When you are shopping around for a plastic sheet vendor you will certainly also intend to investigate the business that you are taking care of to ensure that they are most likely to be around for a long period of time. If you are most likely to be having a lot of problems with your plastic sheet supply you are going to want to ensure that you are most likely to have the ability to trust them to continue to provide you with the premium item that you have involved anticipate, for many years.
